Released: May 8, 2001
It’s time to nice up the dancehall! RAS is very excited to present the debut CD from the Queen of conscious reggae dancehall, Angie Angel. The potent lyrics of this militant Rastawoman joined with some of the defest dancehall rhythms of today, result in Life, an album bound to catapult Angie into international stardom.

Angie has been on the reggae scene for quite a few years, recording singles for a bevy of producers. Many of these singles have now been collected together with three new tracks produced and recorded by Carl "Bridge" Ayton (drummer for many Israel Vibration recordings and current drummer for live Bunny Wailer shows).

Featured on this CD is the title track "Life" which is a wonderful duet with Sister Judy Mowatt. Another duet with crooner Bobby Blue—"People Unite"—shows the strength of Angie when combined with a singer. "All A Di Princess" and "Queen Omega" are strong statements as to the abilities and strengths of women in a reggae world often dominated by men.

It is high time for the people to hear a woman DJ who is tough enough to hang with all the macho male DJs screeching their slackness. Angie is confident and knows herself and expresses herself with conviction. Here to make her mark on the reggae world, Angie Angel has come on a mission. The music speaks for itself. So listen and you will learn. A debut album from a massive talent.
